At first glance, we assumed this was a rattlesnake because…it has a rattle. We googled and discovered that instead, it’s an Eastern Milk Snake and likes mice and voles. We have tons of mice and voles and we have a few Eastern Milk Snakes. They are ornery and hiss at you if you get close and seem to have attacked our dog when he sniffed one…not sure…dog may have fallen down the stairs or something instead.
